Queensland P76 Owners Club Inc. 2010

Ken Sunshine Coast

I live on the Sunshine coast and in my mid 20's.
I have owned and been into mini's since 2004 when I got my licence and I'm still driving my 1st car, a 1962 mini.
It's through the mini's I discovered their bigger cousin the P76 and decided I wanted one to replace my VP commodore.
I could have spent a heap of money on the commodore to get it back up to a good safe condition or with the same money get a P76.
So I decided to get A P76 as I don't like driving common cars that blend in, I want to have fun when I drive.
Looking on eBay I found one near by and for the right price so in late 2009 I brought Kummerfeld's car (I believe off his son) it's a 1974 4 speed manual Executive.
When I got it it was exactly the same as it is in the old pictures except it had rats living in it which have chewed up parts of the interior, the foam out from under the rear seat, some wiring and as much firewall sound deadener as their stomachs could handle.
I've since got the car through a RWC and registered it in late December 2009.
Running repairs so far is replacing the coil, condenser, resistor, HT leads & plugs trying to fix an elusive running problem (think it's finally fixed now), new tyres, exhaust, new wheels fitted to the 4 white jelly bean mags. I've fitted a commodore brake booster and an alloy radiator as the std ones were leaking.
I'm just about to upgrade the lights to H4's and H1's and I am planning on fitting a higher ratio-ed LSD diff as it currently has the automatic ratio, I also want to fit a 5 speed gearbox and maybe look at converting it to run on gas only.
The car still needs a fair deal of TLC but I enjoy it more than the commodore that it replaced.
